1. Who we are
GoalX ("we", "us", "our") is a football coaching app that provides AI-powered video analysis, training content, and personalized coaching tools. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.

2. Information we collect
Information you provide directly
- Profile information: name, date of birth, nationality, country you play in, club name, club level, playing position, height, weight, preferred foot, playing style preferences, and improvement goals.
- Video clips: footage you upload of yourself playing football, which may include other players, coaches, or bystanders visible in the background.
- Account information (once account creation is available): email address and password, or equivalent sign-in credentials.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: which features you use, how many analyses you run, app crash reports, and general device/app performance information.
- Device information: device type, operating system, and app version, used for troubleshooting and compatibility.
3. How we use your video — including third-party AI processing
This is important, and we want to be direct about it. When you upload a video clip for analysis, that clip is sent to Google's Gemini API, a third-party artificial intelligence service, in order to generate your coaching report. This means:
- Your video is transmitted to Google's servers for processing.
- Google's own privacy practices and data handling terms apply to that processing, in addition to ours. You can review Google's Gemini API terms at ai.google.dev/gemini-api/terms.
- We do not control how Google's infrastructure processes or temporarily handles this data beyond what our agreement with them specifies.
- We retain your uploaded video only if you choose to submit it to Hall of Fame — in that case, the clip is stored permanently in our cloud storage so other users can view it, until you request its removal. Videos analyzed outside of Hall of Fame submissions are not guaranteed to be permanently retained by us and may only exist on your own device.
We use the video and any information you provide only to generate your coaching report, power app features such as personalized training sessions, and — only if you choose to submit a goal to Hall of Fame — to display that specific clip publicly as described in Section 6.
4. Children's privacy
GoalX may be used by players under the age of 18, including children under 13. We take this seriously.
- Users must provide their date of birth when creating an account. Users under the age of 13 are required to provide a parent or guardian's email address before their account can be created. We store this email on file; we do not currently send a verification or consent-confirmation email to the parent or guardian.
- We do not knowingly collect more information from children than is necessary to provide the service.
- Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided us with information without appropriate consent can contact us at dan@blsl.net to request that we delete it.
5. How we store and protect your information
- Account information, profile data, and Hall of Fame submissions (including video) are stored using Supabase, with infrastructure hosted in the EU (Ireland). Data generated during a coaching analysis that is not submitted to Hall of Fame is currently stored locally on your device.
- We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your data.
- We retain your data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service, unless you request deletion sooner.
6. Hall of Fame — public display of content
If you choose to submit a goal to Hall of Fame, you are choosing to make that specific video clip, your player name, position, and the AI-generated coaching commentary about that clip visible to other users of the app. Do not submit a clip to Hall of Fame unless you're comfortable with it being shown publicly within the app. You can request removal of a Hall of Fame submission at any time by contacting dan@blsl.net.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights including:
- The right to access the personal data we hold about you
- The right to request correction of inaccurate data
- The right to request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- The right to request a copy of your data in a portable format
- The right to object to certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at dan@blsl.net. If you are in the EU/EEA, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. International data transfers
Because video is processed by Google's Gemini API, your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, such transfers are carried out on the basis of appropriate safeguards recognized under applicable data protection law, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
9. Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Google (Gemini API), for the purpose of generating your coaching analysis, as described in Section 3
- Supabase, our account, database, and cloud storage provider, for the purpose of account management and storing Hall of Fame submissions, as described in Section 5
- Law enforcement or regulators, only where legally required
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
